Gender equality is a big thing going on in not only in our country but the whole world . But , i somewhere feel that India does not really get the point of gender equality . Gender equality does not mean that women are superrior to men or that you have to fight only for the rights of women and forget about men .
In India everyone jumps at the idea of having a protest for a dowry harassment case or a rape case against a women , but why do we always forget that the woman may put a false case , that the woman can have an evil mind and frame the men/man falsely . Why are we not ready to accept the fact that women maybe a weaker gender physically but mentally we are as strong as men.
According to the indian law , it is impossible for a woman to commit a rape or adultery. Why does not anyone fight against such laws . Are we not fighting for gender equality while keeping men superior to us ? If not , why do such laws exist ? In todays world , women do cheat on their spouses, they do sexually assault others , both men and women .
A woman can put false cases against someone in the court . The worst part of such a case is that the defender is always seen with an eye of suspicion . He/they are just assumed to be guilty . Nowadays it is not so difficult to file a dowry harassment case or rape case. Even before the investigation is completed , the defender/defenders are treated guilty.
At the same time , very less people are ready to accept that a man has been raped . Even if a man speaks up about his assault , it is seen as a joke . No man has really been able to come up in the open about his assault because he feels that it will end up in them becoming a joke because he is not a "MARD" anymore .
We need to try and make India a country where everyone can speak up about the harassments happening to them and irrespective of their gender . We need to accept the fact that even men can be harassed and women cam harass people to . We have to make the investigations much better and faster justice needs to be provided . A women's words can not be accepted blindly
